Rockwell is a serif font crafted in 1934 by American typeface designer, Frank Hinman Pierpont.
At a glance, Rockwell font is rigid and mechanical, however keen observers will note it’s charmingly friendly nature. This juxtaposition stems from simple geometry, composed of an attractive yet humble use of right angles, straight lines and circles.It’s this dual appearance that makes Rockwell font the rock star it truly is. Rockwell font is a slab-serif with monoline construction, having all of its strokes roughly the same width and its capital “O” roughly circular, giving it a similar impression to sans-serif designs such as Futura which we discuss further here.
Rockwell Font gained fame through its use by the Guinness World Records in the early 1990’s and at Expo 86. Rockwell Font isn’t a google font, but it there are typefaces in Googles available fonts that are similar to Rockwell such as Kameron Font.
Distinct in character, yet laid back and cool, Rockwell fits in and just works in any place or context.
